MIAMI (AP) - A Florida judge has overturned the state's ban on same-sex marriage in a ruling that applies to Miami-Dade County. The ruling by Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel applies only in Miami-Dade County. It agrees with a ruling by judge in Monroe County last week. The Monroe County judge's ruling was stayed when Attorney General Pam Bondi filed notice of appeal.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Former Gov. Charlie Crist says he's already taken a strong position on climate change and Republican Gov. Rick Scott hasn't. Crist met with a Florida State University scientist yesterday to talk about climate change and rising sea levels.

LARGO, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a taxi driver. A Pinellas County judge sentenced 25-year-old Tisen KaShawn Washington on Thursday after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder. Washington was arrested last year - five years after 50-year-old Jack LaGrand was killed.
